Frequently Asked Questions
What are remote vs local interactions?
Remote interactions are requests from remote agents (external services) to you. Local interactions are from local agents running on your device and are unlimited on all tiers.
How are remote interactions counted?
Each HITL tool call from a remote agent (e.g., request_human_input, notify_human) counts as one interaction. Retries within the same message are not billed.
What are local vs remote agents?
Local (in-app) agents run on your mobile device. Remote agents connect from external services via MCP or API. Only remote interactions count toward your monthly limit.
Can I exceed limits?
Yes. We will notify you and provide a grace period; you can upgrade or set guardrails.
Do you offer E2EE?
Yes. Optional end‑to‑end encryption is available in all paid tiers via the hitl‑cli proxy and our MCP tools.
Is there an on‑prem or VPC option?
No enterprise or on-prem VPC option at the moment but you can email contact@hitlrelay.app
